The Heyyyy
Girl. I had ONE eyelash drooping down - one - and I am mid
heyyyy to this genuinely hot guy, full eye contact, and he
goes... um. no. Not to me. To the lash. It was dangling off my
lens like a windshield wiper that gave up. He watched it swing.
Diagnosis: strip adhesive failed at the outer corner; lash pinned between lid and lens with ~0 mm of escape room.
The fix: outer-corner reach is the longest reach - a Swoop-rated frame gives the flick 15 mm to live in.
- patient zero, 30,000 ft

The Fog Interview
Final round interview. New set, 13 mm, gorgeous. Every blink painted a
little grease stripe on my lenses until I was interviewing inside a
steamed shower door. I answered a question about leadership style while
squinting at three blurry judges like a Victorian ghost.
Diagnosis: 13 mm J-curl = ~11.7 mm forward reach vs ~11 mm usable clearance. Contact on every blink.
The fix: same length in a D curl reaches ~6.5 mm. Same drama, zero fog. Curl before length, always.
- still waiting to hear back

The Spider in the Margarita
Rooftop birthday. I sneezed. My left strip departed - full send - and
landed in my friend's margarita. She looked down, saw legs, and screamed
loud enough that the DJ stopped. I had to fish my own lash out of her
drink and say it's mine to a silent rooftop.
Diagnosis: lens contact had been peeling the band edge all night. The sneeze just finished the job.
The fix: a strip that never touches the lens keeps its glue line. Rated frames protect the bond, not just the look.
- she made me buy the next round

The Involuntary Wink
One lash flipped UP behind my lens and pinned itself. Every blink
tugged my lid, so my face just... winked. At my boyfriend's dad. Twice.
At dinner. I could not explain it without saying the words my lash
is trapped against my glasses so I simply became a person who winks.
Diagnosis: upswept lash tip caught the top lens edge - the exact zone shallow lenses put in the flight path.
The fix: tall lenses plus pantoscopic tilt move the top edge above the arc. The wink retires.
- his dad winks back now

The Squeak
Quiet office. All-hands meeting. My lashes were JUST long enough to
touch, so every slow blink made a tiny skrrt on the lens.
Like a small windshield wiper. In the silence. The intern heard it.
We made eye contact. I blinked. Skrrt.
Diagnosis: reach exceeded clearance by well under 1 mm - the cruelest margin. Big enough to touch, small enough to deny.
The fix: this is why our ratings include 2 mm of blink room. Clearing by almost is not clearing.
- the intern knows

The Hug of a Stranger
I stopped wearing my glasses on lash days. Freedom, I thought. Then I
power-walked across a parking lot and hugged a man who was not my
husband. He was simply a tall shape near a gray truck. My husband
watched from the actual gray truck. The stranger patted my back.
Diagnosis: abandoned prescription. The most common lash-glasses failure is not smudging - it is quitting.
The fix: you should never have to choose between seeing and serving. That is the entire company.
- the stranger says hi
